Closer to the edge of the Maa Paleokastro peninsula located the Mycenaean settlement of the Cyprus Museum and the current archaeological site. This small museum is built on the site of excavations of the ancient settlement of Mycenaean Greeks who found refuge at Cyprus after the fall of the Mycenaean kingdom. That settlement arose in the XII century BC and existed until 1150 BC. The museum exposition presents archaeological finds made at the place of the excavation. But tourists consider the unusual design of the museum building much more intersting: it looks like a landed UFO. Visitors can take wonderful and funny pictures near it.
