Kapparis Beach is located a little north of the Protaras resort town and is the first well-furnished beach of south-eastern coast of the island, if you move from the occupied part of Cyprus. There are also other names of the Kapparis Beach – Fireman’s Beach or Asprokremmos Beach. Kapparis Beach is located in amazingly beautiful bay which is decorated by the steep cliff from white limestone (hence one of the names of the beach – “Aspro – kremmos” – white cliff). Cliff and capes forming a bay make an excellent protection for the beach from even the strongest south-western winds and sea storms.
Kapparis Beach (Asprokremmos) received a Blue Flag certificate and complies with the EEA standards – here you can see lifesavers on duty, working toilet and feet shower (located near the parking lot), cabanas, sun loungers and parasols rental (the beach has about 40 loungers pairs). But at the same time the beach service is somewhat limited – parking lot, where visitors leave their cars, is quite small and there is only one small snack bar on the beach, where you can buy drinks and ice cream, as well as hot food, such as hamburgers and French fries.
From the hill down to the beach area you can go by the flat launch way without steps that will be convenient for people with disabilities and for the descent with baby carriage.
In the immediate vicinity of the beach a small villa community, in which vacationers can rent a house, is built. Comfortable two-storey buildings with all conveniences, designed for a different number of guests, with comfortable terraces, pools and neat green lawns together with a quiet and picturesque beach to which the road on foot will take about 10 minutes, is ideal for families with children or for a little company who wants to spend a holiday away from the hustle and bustle.
To get to the Kapparis beach is possible if you go along the Kappari Avenu road coming from the Protaras to the abandoned city of Famagusta, and turn from it to the right just after the Twilight Glikocharama bar-restaurant, to the Kennedy Road Street.
The closest hotel to the Kapparis beach is a three-star hotel “Amore Hotel Apartments” located on Kennedy Road Street, and the path from the hotel to the Asprokremmos beach takes about two kilometers. Amore Hotel Apartments is mostly suitable for travelers who want to save on housing rental and at the same time ready to put up with modest living conditions and limited service.
The hotel offers its guests to stay in the apartment for two to six people, with studio-kitchen provided with everything necessary for self-cooking and eating. Most apartments have a balcony. You can relax and spend an evening on the outdoor terrace with a garden or in the living room. The hotel also offers the basic conveniences which are characteristic of the Cypriot economy-class hotels: free parking lots, large swimming pool, TV, Internet access, tennis court, billiards, sauna, gym, massage room. The hotel also has a small restaurant and bar, a game room and a special pool for children. Not far from the hotel there is a bus stop, and every 10 minutes a bus arrives on which you can get to the center of Protaras.
